8 Simple Ways to Prepare Your Home for the Market

If you’re getting ready to sell your home, it’s important to make preparations before the sign is in the yard. Fortunately, there are numerous ways to showcase the best features of your property. Keep reading for more information.

1. Clean from top to bottom. One of the biggest mistakes you can make as a home seller is believing that your standard cleaning routine is good enough. The reality is that it isn’t. 2. Consider smells. One of the first things your buyers will notice is how your home smells. Good or bad, the scents wafting through the air can add value or take it away. Avoid doing anything that would leave a lingering odor in the days before a showing. If you have pets, they should be long gone before your open house or viewing. Once everything is painted, consider replacing outdated hardware, such as cabinets and doorknobs.
